For all of those people that I talk to who are interested in Al Franken, his campaign and his thinking about the steps … we need to be taking… and the issues our government needs to be addressing… BUT… they are apprehensive because his professional experience has been primarily shaped by his training as a writer, humorist and his work as a comedian…
I think of the following quotation that appeared on the T-Shirts of two young political volunteers at the Sub-Caucus meeting I attended. ” Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Albert Einstein. Al has worked very hard and travelled all over the state to listen to people’s concerns and stories. One of the gifts he will bring to government and our political system… if he is elected… is imagination. Imagination to solve problems and create solutions and involve many different groups of people in our democratic process. It is his sense of imagination… his value of the potential of the human imagination that keeps me interested in him… as a political candidate.
