Sandhill Cranes

The migration of Sandhill Cranes at Crex Meadows has started.  I’m told it’s not even close to the peak of birds when up to 8,000 of these prehistoric looking creatures fly in at sunset to rest overnight at the Crex Meadow refuge.  It’s a short drive to Grantsburg Wisconsin to observe this happening.  Arrive an hour before sunset as these magnificent birds arrive for their overnight stay.
