The “people’s room”

Governor Dayton started his administration in the most extraordinary way.  Giving voice to his dissenters before he signed the Medicare participation in the federal buy in program.

The tea partiers packed the room along with several legislative leaders.  Governor Dayton invited three people from the public to speak for and three people to speak against the order he was about to sign.  When asked why he would allow the voices of dissent into this event in the Governor’s reception room he replied “Because this is the people’s room.”
